Job summary

AKH Hospital Al Ain is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist to join the mental health department. The candidate should have a medical degree and a specialist psychiatry qualification, with a minimum of eight years of clinical experience and fluency in Arabic and English.

The role focuses on diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders in adults and adolescents, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Specialist Psychiatry qualification (MD Board Certification etc.).
• Valid UAE license or eligibility for HAAD/DHA/MOH licensing.
• Minimum 8 years of clinical experience in psychiatry.
• Fluency in Arabic and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric disorders in adults and adolescents.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers and primary care physicians.
• Provide crisis intervention for acute psychiatric cases.
• Maintain confidential patient records per UAE regulations.
• Participate in mental health awareness initiatives and CME programs.

Role Overview

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric disorders in adult and adolescent patients
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists social workers and primary care physicians
• Provide crisis intervention and support for acute psychiatric cases
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations
• Participate in hospital-wide mental health awareness initiatives and CME programs
