Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist Planning Engineer to support ADNOC Offshore Umm Shaif Phase 1 onshore packages. You will develop, monitor and control integrated project schedules across engineering, procurement, construction and start-up, providing expert planning support to PMC, ADNOC and EPC teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience in oil & gas.
  • Significant experience with onshore/offshore Greenfield developments.
  • Extensive experience in planning, scheduling and project controls for large EPC/EPCM/PMC projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and CPM scheduling techniques.
  • Experience in progress measurement, earned value analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience in PMC/EPCM environments representing Owner/Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules for engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Review EPC Contractor baseline schedules to ensure compliance with ADNOC requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Provide planning and scheduling support to PMC Project Management Team throughout execution.
  • Establish and maintain WBS, coding structures and schedule control systems.
  • Perform delay analysis and identify schedule risks and mitigation options.
  • Coordinate schedule interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Prepare progress curves, S-curves and KPI dashboards for management reporting.
  • Monitor progress against baselines and assist recovery planning for schedule slippages.
  • Interface with ADNOC and contractor stakeholders for schedule reviews and governance.

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist Planning Engineer to support the delivery of the ADNOC Offshore Umm Shaif Gas Cap Phase 1 Onshore Project (Packages 2 & 3). The role will be responsible for planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, performance analysis, forecasting, and schedule assurance throughout all phases of project execution.

The successful candidate will provide planning and project controls expertise to the PMC, ADNOC and EPC Contractor teams, ensuring effective development, maintenance and control of integrated project schedules. The role will act as the focal point for schedule management activities, supporting project leadership through timely reporting, schedule analysis, risk identification and recovery planning while ensuring compliance with ADNOC requirements, project procedures and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, maintain and monitor integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Review EPC Contractor baseline schedules and ensure compliance with ADNOC requirements, project objectives and contractual obligations.
  • Provide specialist planning and scheduling support to PMC Project Management Team throughout project execution.
  • Establish and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), coding structures and schedule control systems.
  • Evaluate contractor planning deliverables and verify schedule integrity, logic, resource loading and critical path compliance.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, constraints and opportunities for optimization.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning progress against approved baselines.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and maintain Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and detailed execution schedules as required.
  • Assess schedule impacts arising from design changes, technical queries, site issues and project risks.
  • Review and validate EPC Contractor progress measurement methodologies and earned value reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with project disciplines to ensure accurate progress measurement and forecast reporting.
  • Develop short-term and long-term planning strategies to support effective project execution.
  • Prepare progress curves, S-curves, KPI dashboards and management reporting packages.
  • Analyze schedule performance trends and provide forecasts for project completion milestones.
  • Support project management in identifying mitigation and recovery measures for schedule slippages.
  • Participate in schedule risk assessments and quantitative schedule analysis activities.
  • Review contractor manpower histograms, resource plans and productivity assessments.
  • Coordinate schedule interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Monitor subcontractor schedule performance and interface management requirements.
  • Support project change management processes from a planning and scheduling perspective.
  • Evaluate Extension of Time (EOT) claims and schedule impact assessments.
  • Perform delay analysis and assess schedule implications of project changes and disruptions.
  • Review weekly and monthly progress reports submitted by EPC Contractors.
  • Facilitate planning and schedule review meetings with ADNOC, PMC and EPC Contractor stakeholders.
  • Ensure schedule updates reflect actual project progress and approved execution strategies.
  • Support preparation of management presentations and executive reporting requirements.
  • Interface with ADNOC Project Controls, Project Management and Engineering teams on all planning-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with PMC project control procedures, ADNOC standards and industry best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives in planning, scheduling and project controls processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in planning and scheduling within the oil & gas industry.
  • Significant experience supporting major onshore and offshore Greenfield developments.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling and project controls for large EPC, EPCM or PMC projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and project scheduling methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques.
  • Experience developing and managing integrated project schedules across all project phases.
  • Proven experience reviewing EPC Contractor schedules and schedule control systems.
  • Experience performing progress measurement, earned value analysis and project forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning workflows.
  • Experience conducting delay analysis, schedule risk assessments and recovery planning.
  • Previous experience working within a PMC/EPCM environment representing the Owner/Operator.
  • Sound understanding of ADNOC project execution and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
