Job summary

Penspen Ltd. is seeking a Specialist Pipeline Engineer in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to provide expert pipeline engineering support for a major upstream Oil & Gas project.

You will review EPC contractor deliverables, ensure ADNOC standards conformance and coordinate across multiple disciplines. The role requires 15+ years of experience in upstream pipeline projects, familiarity with ASME B31.4/B31.8 and API 5L, and prior PMC/Owner’s Engineer exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Pipeline Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of Oil & Gas pipeline engineering experience.
• ADNOC project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8, API 5L and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide technical oversight of pipeline engineering and design deliverables produced by the EPC contractor.
• Review pipeline alignment sheets, route studies, plan & profile drawings, crossing details, pipeline specifications and design calculations.
• Provide technical guidance on pipeline routing, hydraulic requirements, materials, wall thickness, corrosion protection and constructability.
• Review pipeline design for onshore gathering, flowline and export/transfer systems as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC specifications and international codes.
• Review pipeline material selection, line pipe specifications, fittings, valves, isolation requirements and coating systems.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Instrumentation and other disciplines to resolve interfaces.
• Review pipeline stress/flexibility assessments, crossings, tie-ins and supports.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP, design reviews and 3D model/interface reviews.
• Review EPC contractor technical queries, deviations, design changes and engineering submissions.
• Review MTOs, material requisitions and vendor documentation related to pipeline systems.
• Monitor contractor progress and close technical comments promptly.
• Support FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Specialist Pipeline Engineer – PMC

Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Pipeline Engineer to support a major upstream Oil & Gas project in Abu Dhabi. The role will be responsible for providing specialist pipeline engineering expertise, reviewing EPC contractor deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, ADNOC standards and applicable international codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review MTOs, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation related to pipeline systems.
• Monitor contractor progress and ensure timely closure of technical comments and actions.
• Provide technical support during FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Pipeline Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years of relevant Oil & Gas pipeline engineering experience.
• Strong experience in upstream Oil & Gas pipeline projects, including gathering/flowline systems and associated facilities.
• Previous PMC/Owner’s Engineer experience with EPC contractor design review is highly desirable.
• ADNOC project experience and knowledge of ADNOC standards preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8, API 5L and relevant pipeline codes and standards.
• Experience in pipeline route selection, hydraulic design, wall-thickness calculations, material selection, coating/corrosion protection and pipeline integrity requirements.
• Experience with pipeline crossings, tie-ins, road/utility crossings and constructability considerations.
• Knowledge of sour-service/H₂S pipeline requirements.
• Familiarity with pipeline engineering/design software and relevant technical databases.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and EPC contractor management skills.
• Excellent technical communication and report-writing abilities.
