Job summary

Worley is seeking a senior Loss Prevention engineer to lead LP activities for a major Oil & Gas project in the UAE. You will oversee a team of specialists and engineers, ensuring LP deliverables meet international codes and owner requirements while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Required experience includes fifteen years in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical, with at least five years in GCC, FEED & EPC exposure, and offshore project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region and managing a team of specialists, senior engineers and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Loss Prevention engineering activities for the project to meet scope, budget and schedule.
  • Review and approve LP engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with technical departments, business units and operations to resolve technical issues and maintain safety.
  • Provide LP engineering guidance across engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning and pre-commissioning phases.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring HSSEQ goals objectives and targets are met through personal leadership and involvement.
  • Safe delivery and handover of the Project to the Owner sustainably safely on time within budget ensuring that a quality product is produced that represents best value for the Owner and their Stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and supervise the Loss Prevention engineering aspects of the Assiut Hydrocracking Complex Project to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope budget and schedule.
  • Supervise oversee and coordinate regular and timely technical reviews of Loss Prevention related Engineering deliverables developed by the Contractor and technology Licensors ensuring design optimization in compliance with relevant codes standards and best practices and in close conjunction with Owners functional departments.
  • Co-ordinate and interface with other Technical Departments Business Units Operations and Maintenance functions to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Engineering execution and integrity.
  • Provide technical expertise on all subject matter pertaining to Loss Prevention Engineering during all phases of Project e.g. Engineering Fabrication Installation Pre-commissioning and Commissioning.
  • Responsible for developing and establishing systems procedures and standards for effective implementation of the Project in line with International Codes and Standards Owner specifications local regulations and Owners HSE policies philosophies and requirements for Loss Prevention Engineering.
  • Champion the Project Safety culture behaviors and engagement activities.
  • Reporting to the PMC Engineering Manager and works under his direction.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Contractors Loss Prevention Engineering activities.
  • Review and approve Contractors work and ensure compliance with Contract obligations Project specifications relevant codes and standards design philosophy and Industry best practices.
  • Provide PMC Loss Prevention performance data and reports to PMC Management and the Owner.
  • Provide technical guidance to develop new specifications and update existing specifications.
  • Perform calculations for design validation and optimization.
  • Review technical bid submissions and perform technical bid analysis.
  • Participate in Layout P&lD PHASER HAZID HAZOP SIL Layout Safety Reviews PSSR constructability reviews 3D Model reviews safety audits QRA workshops etc.
  • Provide Loss Prevention Engineering expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
  • Participate in analysis during Contractor and Vendor pre-qualification bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Contractors Loss Prevention Engineering activities and review deliverables including philosophies data sheets specifications layouts close out reports detailed drawings etc. pertaining to risk studies loss prevention systems firefighting equipment muster station TGRs
  • TSRs Safety Signage hazardous areas classifications etc.
  • Review any Project specific Risk Management Systems and criteria pertaining to Loss Prevention.
  • Manager & review of HSEIAs for Loss Prevention Engineering inputs including reviewing hazards and effects registers bow tie diagrams HSECES register HSCES performance standards and procedures etc.
  • Review Emergency Response procedures and plans for Loss Prevention inputs including alignment with Owner specifications and standards etc.
  • Provide assistance and support to Construction Pre- commissioning and Commissioning phases of the works.
  • Review Action Tracking Registers and ensure close out of all Loss Prevention actions arising out of key reviews workshops HSSEQ studies safety related concerns etc.
  • Review technical bid submissions and perform technical bid analysis for Loss Prevention discipline.
  • Provide Loss Prevention Engineering expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline Engineers.
  • Participate in analysis during Contractor and Vendor pre-qualification bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
  • Assist in the handling of correspondence related to Loss Prevention.
Qualifications
  • A bachelors degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists Senior Engineers and Engineers.
  • ADNOC & Offshore project experience is preferred
  • PMC experiences are preferrable.
  • Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
