Job summary

Worley is seeking a Specialist Electrical Engineer (ABU02AS) for senior roles on mega Oil & Gas projects in Abu Dhabi. You will work with Owner agencies and EPC/FEED contractors to ensure design integrity, safety, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include reviewing electrical engineering deliverables, coordinating with vendors, and participating in technical sessions to drive project success in a complex, offshore-ready environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum fifteen (15+) years of relevant Oil & Gas or Petrochemical experience.
  • Five (5) years in a similar Mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical project role.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the Project Safety culture and engagement activities.
  • Identify and resolve Electrical Engineering issues during FEED/EPC Phases.
  • Review and approve Contractor deliverables and key design documents.
  • Coordinate interface activities between EPC/FEED Contractor and Owner.
  • Attend technical meetings with Owner, Licensor, Contractor and Vendors.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Project Safety culture, behaviors and engagement activities.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and resolving Project Management issues during the early work phase and FEED phases of the Project.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and resolving electrical Engineering issues.
  • Act on behalf of and as authorized by Owner, on all matters with respect to the EPC / FEED Contractor and shall coordinate Project activities.
  • Review and approve within the specified approval durations, the Contractor key deliverables and other works within the electrical discipline, ensuring compliance with design requirements which involves the interpretation and review of calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, system or equipment with relatively few complex features.
  • Attend regular or as needed meetings at EPC / FEED Contractor’s Engineering offices and construction Site offices to discuss the progress of EPC / FEED Contractor’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities.
  • Review and approve the following Contractor’s deliverables.
  • Review and approve key design documents from Vendors, equipment manufacturers or Subcontractors and prepare comments and recommendations incorporating any comments received from the Owner.
  • Attend technical meeting with Owner, Licensor, Contractor and Vendors.
  • Attend all Project technical sessions by the Contractor such as: Design Review Meetings, 3D Model Review Meeting, Constructability, SIL, EIA, HAZOP and HAZID etc.
  • Ensuring that the Project quality procedures are established maintained and implemented by the EPC / FEED Contractor.
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of Contractor’s Engineering design activities, system integration, and design selection.
  • Supervise and manage the review and approval of Contractor’s work, ensuring compliance with Owner and Project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate the required Engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models. Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to ensure design optimization and validation for the Owner.
  • Coordinate other discipline Engineer’s participation in layout reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline Engineers.
  • Coordinate auditing activities of the EPC / FEED Contractor and ensure that the recommendations for improvement are implemented.
  • Manage and coordinate interface activities between the EPC / FEED Contractor, Owner as well as with outside third parties.
  • Coordinate technical reviews and analysis during vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinate the review of technical bid submissions and perform technical bid analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • ADNOC project experience is required.
  • Offshore project experience is required.
  • PMC experiences are preferrable.
  • Experience in FEED & EPC Phases is required.
