Penspen is urgently looking to hire a Specialist Commissioning Electrical for an offshore PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will lead field activities for pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, energization and start-up of offshore electrical systems.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 15+ years of experience, with 5–8 years offshore. Hands-on expertise with HV/MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, generators, motors, VFDs, UPS and protection systems

• Proven experience in offshore electrical commissioning is strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide specialist technical and field support for electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, energization, functional verification, troubleshooting and start-up of offshore electrical systems.
• Hands-on expertise for electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS, protection systems, emergency power and related interfaces.
• Ensure electrical systems are tested, energized and functionally verified per procedures, specs, manufacturers’ recommendations, HSE requirements and client standards.
• Perform and coordinate electrical pre-commissioning activities.
• Verify electrical installation against drawings and specifications.
• Conduct visual and physical inspections of electrical equipment.
• Verify cable termination, gland installation, identification and routing.
• Check panel, switchgear and MCC installation readiness.
• Carry out electrical testing per procedures.
• Perform insulation resistance testing.
• Perform continuity and conductor verification.
• Support HV withstand/dielectric testing where applicable.

Job Description:

Qualification Required

• The candidates should have bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing specialist technical and field support for electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, energization, functional verification, troubleshooting and start-up of offshore oil & gas electrical systems.


• Provides hands-on expertise for electrical distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, MCCs, motors, VFDs, UPS, protection systems, emergency power and associated electrical interfaces.


• Ensures electrical systems are safely tested, energized and functionally verified in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, HSE requirements and Client/Operator standards.


• Perform and coordinate electrical pre-commissioning activities.


• Verify electrical installation against approved drawings and specifications.


• Conduct visual and physical inspections of electrical equipment.


• Verify cable termination, gland installation, identification and routing.


• Check panel, switchgear and MCC installation readiness.


• Carry out electrical testing in accordance with approved procedures.


• Perform insulation resistance testing.


• Perform continuity and conductor verification.


• Support high-voltage withstand/dielectric testing where applicable and authorized.

Experience Required

• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 to 8+ years significant in offshore project.


• Proven experience in offshore oil & gas electrical commissioning is strongly preferred.


• Strong practical experience with HV/MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, transformers, generators, motors, VFDs, UPS and emergency power systems.


• Demonstrated experience in electrical testing, energization, functional testing and troubleshooting.


• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings and electrical equipment datasheets.


• Preferred experience from PMC/EPC Background.


• Previous ADNOC Offshore Experience is advantage.
