Job summary

Synechron in Dubai, UAE is seeking an experienced Solution Architect (Cards & Payments) to design end-to-end payment ecosystems, including card issuing, acquiring, e-commerce, and payments operations. Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in payments technology, solution architecture, or presales, including client-facing roles.
• Proven experience designing or architecting payment platform solutions across issuing/acquiring processing and APIs.
• Experience with platform migrations or replatforming involving live production systems.
• Working knowledge of payment scheme rules, regulatory frameworks and local market considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end payment solution architectures spanning card issuing (debit, credit, prepaid, closed-loop, virtual) and acquiring.
• Translate client business requirements and regulatory context into a coherent target-state architecture and phased solution strategy.
• Migration & integration: assess existing client platforms and define migration, integration and interoperability approaches with minimal disruption to live operations.
• Regulatory alignment: factor in local regulatory, scheme and routing requirements as part of solution design, working with compliance and legal stakeholders.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of payment ecosystems - card issuing, acquiring, e-commerce, and payments operations.

Job Description:

Solution Architecture: Develop end-to-end payment solution architectures spanning card issuing (debit, credit, prepaid, closed-loop, virtual),

Acquiring: (POS, ATM), e-commerce and operations (reconciliation, charge back).

Strategic framing: Translate client business requirements and regulatory context into a coherent target-state architecture and phased solution strategy.

Migration & integration: Assess existing client platforms and define migration, integration and interoperability approaches with minimal disruption to live operations.

Regulatory alignment: Factor in local regulatory, scheme and routing requirements as part of solution design, working with compliance and legal stakeholders where needed.

Strong end-to-end knowledge of payment ecosystems - card issuing, acquiring, e-commerce, and payments operations.

Required Skills:

12+ years of experience in payments technology, solution architecture, or presales, including experience in a client-facing role.

Proven experience designing or architecture payment platform solutions, ideally across issuing/acquiring processing platforms and issuing APIs.

Experience working on platform migration or re platforming engagements involving live production systems.

Working knowledge of payment scheme rules, regulatory frameworks and local market considerations (e.g. central bank oversight, domestic scheme participation).

Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, PMP) are a plus but not mandatory

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
