Job summary

Alpheya, a UAE-based wealthtech startup, seeks a Software Engineer Intern (UAE National) to join its AI team in Abu Dhabi. You will learn across the stack, work with experienced engineers, and help write clean, tested code while contributing to documentation and agile ceremonies.

Current students in Computer Science or Software Engineering will gain hands-on experience with Next.js, Node.js, Go, Python, GraphQL, and Kubernetes in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CS/Software Eng degree with strong fundamentals.
• Basic programming knowledge in any modern language.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork.
• Familiarity with Git or version control is a plus.

Alpheya is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer Intern (UAE National) who will be a part of dynamic and extremely skillful AI team.

Responsibilities

• Learn and contribute to software development across our technology stack through hands-on projects and mentored assignments
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to understand best practices in software development
• Write clean, documented code while receiving guidance from senior team members
• Participate in code reviews to learn from feedback and understand quality standards
• Assist in testing and debugging of applications
• Document your work and contribute to technical documentation
• Take part in team meetings and agile ceremonies to understand our development process

Current stack:

• Frontend: Next.js
• Backend: Node.js (experience layer), Go (system layer), Python (AI)
• APIs: GraphQL, gRPC
• Other technologies: PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Flux, Azure, Github

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Basic programming knowledge in any modern programming language
• Eagerness to learn and ability to adapt to new technologies
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Interest in software development best practices and coding standards
• Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Nice to have:
• Familiarity with any of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Go
• Previous project experience (personal, academic, or professional)
• Interest in fintech, banking, or wealth management

Duration: 6-12 weeks between Mid-September to December
