Job summary

Discovered MENA is seeking a Software Engineer in Abu Dhabi on an initial 3-month contract with extension potential. The role focuses on building scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot, integrating APIs, and enabling AI-driven projects.

You will work in Linux environments, with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and modern frontend frameworks. A four-year engineering background and defense industry experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Defense industry experience and security clearance are a must.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop secure APIs and integrate backend services with frontend apps and external systems.
• Full-stack work with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js).
• Work with Linux, Docker and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy AI-driven solutions.
• Produce architecture diagrams, testing plans and release docs.
• Support secure, high-performance apps for mission‑critical environments.
• 4+ years of experience; strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Experience designing scalable backend services and REST APIs.
• Hands-on with React/Angular/Vue.js; SQL and NoSQL knowledge.
• Familiar with DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Sonar.

They are looking for a Software Engineer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension, contributing to the design, development and deployment of scalable software applications supporting innovative AI-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop secure APIs and integrate backend services with frontend applications and external systems.
• Contribute to full-stack development using modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js)
• Work with Linux environments, Docker and CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and deploy AI-driven solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, including architecture designs, testing plans and release documentation.

• Exposure to real-time software systems, radio protocols or wireless communications.
• Experience developing high-performance or mission-critical software applications.
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and AI/ML applications.
• Knowledge of Ansible, Bash scripting and infrastructure automation.
• French or Arabic language proficiency.
