Job summary

VaporVM is seeking an experienced Software Architect – Java to design high-performance, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will own the technical architecture, guide teams, define best practices, and ensure applications meet business needs while maintaining robustness and security.

You will lead technology stack decisions, design microservices, RESTful APIs, and integration using Camel, Kafka, RabbitMQ; oversee CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and deployment to Tomcat/JBoss; mentor developers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT.
• 8–10 years of experience in application architecture design and technology stacks.
• 3–5 years specifically in application architecture design (foundation, functional, technical).

Job Summary / Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Software Architect – Java to design high-performance, scalable, and secure software solutions. In this role, you will take ownership of the technical architecture, guide the development team, define best practices, and ensure applications meet business needs while maintaining robustness, security, and scalability. You will drive innovation, technical standards, and the adoption of modern architectural patterns across the organization.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Technical Architecture & Design

• Design high-availability, scalable, and secure technical architectures according to customer and business requirements.
• Own the application architecture for foundational, functional, and technical layers.
• Structure and design reusable application features such as modularity, integration, services, business process workflows, notifications, rule‑based policies, dynamic options, encryption, and customization features.
• Ensure standard features like multi‑organization, multi‑lingual, multi‑currency, roles & responsibilities, delegation, security, and accessibility are incorporated.

Leadership & Team Guidance

• Lead the technology stack decisions and ensure best practices are applied consistently across applications.
• Guide development teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions and provide alternative technical solutions when necessary.
• Mentor developers on architecture, coding standards, and design principles.

Development & Best Practices

• Build and maintain common libraries, utilities, and plug‑ins for consistent development.
• Conduct technical solution reviews and code reviews to enforce defined best practices.
• Structure development with CI/CD pipelines and adopt DevOps lifecycle practices.

Performance & Security

• Ensure all technical solutions are optimized for performance, security, and scalability at all layers.
• Implement application performance tuning and enforce best practices in secure deployment.

Workflow & Microservices

• Adopt workflow/business process engines where applicable.
• Design loosely coupled services and microservices architectures to optimize performance, scalability, and availability.

Integration & Web Services

• Develop system integrations using tools like Apache Camel, Spring Integration, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
• Deep understanding of Web Services, RESTful APIs, and various messaging formats.

Front-End & Reporting

• Design front‑end applications using Angular (or React), JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Develop reports using Jasper Reports (or Jaspersoft).

Research & Innovation

• Research and implement improvements in development practices, application features, and design approaches.

Deployment & Operations

• Deploy applications on servers like Tomcat or JBoss.
• Configure and deploy secure, well‑tuned, and scalable applications.
• Ensure applications follow CI/CD pipeline processes for smooth delivery.

Competencies – Core/Technical

• Java & Backend Development – Expertise in Java full stack development with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.
• Strong application architecture design skills across foundation, functional, and technical layers.
• Experience in designing and deploying microservices architectures.
• Integration & APIs – Proficiency with Apache Camel, Spring Integration, RabbitMQ, and Kafka. Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, Web Services, and various message formats.
• Front‑End Development – Experience with Angular (or React), JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Reporting & Workflow – Hands‑on experience with Jasper Reports / Jaspersoft and workflow/business process engines like Camunda or Activiti.
• DevOps & Deployment – Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated deployments. Familiarity with deploying applications on Tomcat and JBoss servers.
• Performance, Security & Scalability – Understanding of enterprise application performance tuning, scalability, and security best practices.

• Professional Experience – 8–10 years of experience in application architecture design, development, and managing technology stacks.
• Architecture Design – 3–5 years of experience specifically in application architecture design (foundation, functional, and technical).
• Java Full Stack Development – 5–6 years of experience in Java full stack enterprise application development using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.
• ERP / Domain Knowledge – Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Zoho, Odoo, or equivalent. Domain expertise in HRMS, Finance, CRM, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse, Property Management, QHSE, or Academic systems.
• Certifications (Preferred) – Java Full Stack Certification, TOGAF / SOA Certification.
