A leading global logistics company in Dubai seeks an experienced project manager to oversee large-scale infrastructure and development projects. The role requires a Bachelor's in civil engineering, and 15-20 years of project management experience, particularly in projects exceeding USD 100 million. The candidate should have proficiency in tools like Primavera and MS Project and possess strong leadership and negotiation skills. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
Project Strategy & Control
Represent DP World and GPPMD on-site, ensuring project objectives, timelines, and budgets are achieved.
Align project execution with DP World’s strategic goals and master development plans.
Lead high-level decision-making and provide direction to consultant and contractor teams.
Support the Group Vice President – Project Portfolio with reviewing major project milestones, design changes, and financial variations.
Ensure all project documentation complies with GPPMD PMO standards, templates, and procedures.
Ensure relevant project information is updated regularly in the Project Portfolio Management System and required reporting is submitted as per the agreed timelines.
Support knowledge transfer, documentation, and PMO best practices to build long-term capability.
Maintain alignment with DP World’s governance framework, including DoA (Delegation of Authority) and ISO-certified processes.
Contribute to lessons learned, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement across the PMO community.
Guarantee audit readiness through consistent reporting, risk management, and adherence to approved workflows.
Act as the first point of contact between DP World, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure transparent communication and escalated critical issues to VP Project Portfolio.
Chair regular technical and progress meetings with consultants and contractors to align expectations and resolve conflicts.
Liaise with government authorities (., RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DECCA) to secure timely permits submissions and approvals.
Ensure project scope, schedule, and cost baselines are clearly defined and controlled.
Monitor consultant deliverables, ensuring design outputs align with DP World’s requirements.
Oversee contractors’ execution of enabling works, infrastructure, superstructure, and fit-out activities.
Approve method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups based on consultant recommendations.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and international best practices.
Review and endorse consultant QA / QC strategies and monitor contractor implementation.
Enforce compliance with all environmental regulations, including EIA and sustainability targets.
Drive a culture of proactive safety and risk management across all project stakeholders.
Review and approve consultant and contractor cost estimates, claims, variations, and invoices.
Safeguard DP World’s interests through robust contractual management and risk mitigation.
Coordinate with the Project Financial Control team within GPPMD Strategy & PMO to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
Manage disputes, enforce contract terms, and expedite resolution of performance issues.
Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports from consultants and contractors.
Highlight delays, risks, and recommended mitigations to the VP Project Portfolio.
Ensure complete documentation and maintain an updated project record aligned with PMO standards.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across design, execution, and external dependencies.
Supervise the consultant’s change control process and approve scope variations.
Manage claims and ensure disputes are addressed at project level before escalation.
Maintain and update project risk registers in line with GPPMD PMO protocols.
Ensure delivery of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and close-out documentation.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and snagging processes to confirm specification compliance.
Facilitate smooth handover to the End User teams from DP World.
Ensure consultants and contractors allocate adequate resources and competent personnel.
Foster collaboration while maintaining accountability across all project stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
Advanced qualifications in Project Management preferred (., PMP, PgMP or equivalent).
Minimum 15–20 years of relevant experience in managing large-scale building, infrastructure, or mixed-use development projects.
Proven track record in delivering projects exceeding USD 100 million in value.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other international forms of contract.
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary consultant and contractor teams.
Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and software (MS Office, AutoCAD).
Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making ability.
Strong financial and contractual acumen.
Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
