Job summary

Propel Consult is seeking an experienced Site Engineer Electrical for high-rise projects in Dubai. You will supervise electrical installations, ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and UAE standards, and coordinate with MEP teams to maintain safety and schedule.

The role requires a Diploma or Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years' UAE high-rise site experience, with strong QA/QC and documentation skills for handover.

Job description

The Site Engineer Electrical will oversee the execution of all electrical works in high-rise building projects ensuring that installations for power lighting and ELV systems comply with approved drawings technical specifications international standards and UAE authority regulations. The role is pivotal in coordinating with multiple disciplines in a fast-paced high-rise construction environment while maintaining safety quality and schedule compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Site Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day installation of electrical works in high-rise towers including main distribution lighting power and ELV systems.
• Monitor work for compliance with approved shop drawings specifications and authority requirements.
• Ensure proper installation of vertical risers cable trays panels transformers and switchgear.
• Track site progress and ensure manpower productivity and efficiency.

2. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with MEP civil and architectural teams for smooth execution.
• Liaise with consultants and client representatives during site inspections.
• Report site progress issues or deviations to the Project Manager or Senior Electrical Engineer.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical input as required.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Inspect electrical works to ensure compliance with DEWA Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense standards.
• Ensure all materials and installations meet project specifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings inspection records and test reports.
• Assist QA/QC teams in inspections and documentation for handover.

4. Safety Management

• Enforce strict adherence to site safety policies and use of PPE.
• Identify electrical hazards (e.g. live wiring high-voltage areas) and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions for site electricians.

5. Testing & Commissioning Support

• Assist in the testing commissioning and handover of electrical systems.
• Monitor installation and testing of ELV systems (CCTV fire alarm access control).
• Prepare punch lists ensure completion of corrective actions and document approvals.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of high-rise building electrical systems (Low/Medium Voltage Power Lighting ELV).
• Knowledge of DEWA regulations and UAE electrical codes.
• Experience with cable routing containment systems risers and panel installation.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings for multi-story towers.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit MEP is a plus.
