Al-Futtaim Retail is seeking a Shopping Experience Assistant - Cashier to support customers at the info desk. You will manage cash transactions, assist shoppers, and help ensure smooth store operations while maintaining high service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years in a customer service role, and strong English; Arabic is preferred. You will be part of a diverse team within a major regional retailer in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Follow cash-handling SOP and process payments by cash, cheque, card, vouchers or debit.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in recording all register transactions.
• Count and record float before opening and at close for accurate cash handling.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for returns and exchanges and analyze sales trends.
• Greet customers, provide shopping tools, bags, and assist to minimize queues.
• Handle routine complaints promptly to guarantee customer satisfaction.
• Book IKEA services (Home Delivery, Assembly, Measurement) and follow up on stock issues.
• Ensure safety and order in play areas and communicate with Duty Manager as needed.

Overview Of The Role:

The Shopping Experience Assistant - Cashier plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and support at the Info desk. The Assistant ensures tasks are performed efficiently, including managing cash transactions, addressing customer needs, and facilitating smooth store operations. By ensuring policies are adhered to and handling service bookings, the Assistant supports the shopping journey and maximizes customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do:

• Follow the SOP pertaining to cash handling, receiving payment by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Compute and record transactions ensuring 100% accuracy for all register transactions.
• Count and record the float before trading begins and upon close of trading ensuring accurate cash handling and safe custody of collected cash.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports of transactions at the returns & Exchange desk for reconciliation with accounts and analyzing sales trends.
• Greet and welcome customers on arrival at the store, ensuring shopping tools and catalogues are available, and provide bags/trollies as appropriate to facilitate the shopping journey.
• Ensure that companys customers are well attended to by responding to their needs and working efficiently to minimize queues.
• Handle routine customer complaints promptly and courteously to guarantee maximum customer satisfaction.
• Ensure that the Returns & Exchange desk policy is perceived as generous and quick.
• Brief the Duty Manager on complaints that require management assistance.
• Use information from the Returns & Exchange desk to detect and solve or report product faults, safety, or transportation problems.
• Greet and welcome customers on arrival at Smaland, explaining the admission policy in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ensure childs safety is a priority within Smaland by providing a safe environment.
• Make announcements and page parents if issues arise with children in the playroom area.
• Book IKEA services such as Home Delivery, Assembly, Measurement and follow up on out-of-stock articles in self-serve.
• Ensure all system procedures are adhered to as per policy and procedure.
