Job summary

STAR SERVICES LLC is seeking an Operations Shift Manager to direct, supervise, and coordinate 24/7 power generation and water desalination plant operations in the GCC region.

You will lead shift personnel to maximize plant availability, ensure PWPA compliance, and uphold HSE standards across all activities. This role requires deep experience with DCS/SCADA, PTW/LOTO, RCA, and strong team leadership to maintain safe, reliable operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical/electrical/power engineering.
• 10+ years in power plant and desalination operations, ideally >1GW IWPP/CCGT/SWRO.
• GCC/Middle East O&M experience preferred.
• BOE, NEBOSH/EHS certifications, or PTW/LOTO licenses highly preferred.
• Strong expertise in DCS/SCADA, PWPA compliance, RCA, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Shift Leadership: Supervise shift operations, direct personnel, and manage handovers/log reviews.
• Plant Operations: Maintain safe, reliable power and water production per PWPA and OMA guidelines.
• Incident & Emergency Response: Lead troubleshooting, business continuity, and escalation during anomalies.
• EHS & Permit Governance: Enforce PTW, LOTO, process safety, and hazardous material handling.
• Maintenance Coordination: Log defects and align maintenance to minimize commercial impact.

About the Role

Operations Shift Manager to direct, supervise, and coordinate round-the-clock power generation and water desalination plant operations. You will lead shift personnel to ensure maximum plant availability, commercial compliance, and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Shift Leadership: Supervise shift operations, direct personnel, and manage smooth shift handovers and log reviews.
• Plant Operations: Maintain safe, reliable power and water production in compliance with PWPA (Power and Water Purchase Agreement) and OMA guidelines.
• Incident & Emergency Response: Lead real-time troubleshooting, business continuity protocols, and escalation management during operational abnormalities.
• EHS & Permit Governance: Enforce strict Permittowork (PTW), LOTO, process safety, and waste/hazardous material handling protocols.
• Maintenance Coordination: Log plant defects and align emergency/planned maintenance activities to minimize commercial impact.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering.
• Experience: 10+ years in power plant and desalination operations (ideally in >1GW IWPP / CCGT / SWRO facilities).
• Regional Experience: Minimum 5+ years of GCC/Middle East O&M experience required.
• Certifications: BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer), NEBOSH/EHS certifications, or PTW/LOTO licenses are highly preferred.
• Skills: Expert in DCS/SCADA control systems, PWPA compliance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and team leadership.
