Job summary

OCA Global in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Welding Inspector to lead on-site inspections of welded structures, review procedures, and ensure compliance with project specifications and client requirements.

You will mentor junior inspectors, coordinate with project teams, conduct visual and non-destructive testing, and contribute to continuous improvement of welding inspection methods. CSWIP/AWS CWI certifications and an engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Welding Inspection and welding procedures and standards interpretation.
• Proficiency in Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
• Experience in inspection activities including visual inspection and non-destructive testing coordination.
• CSWIP, AWS CWI, or equivalent welding inspection qualifications.
• Technical diploma or engineering degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related discipline.
• Experience in oil/gas, energy, or infrastructure projects with welded structures.

Role Description

The Senior Welding Inspector role at OCA Global is a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi. The Senior Welding Inspector is responsible for conducting detailed inspections of welded structures and components, verifying compliance with applicable standards, project specifications, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing welding procedures and documentation, supervising and auditing welding activities, performing visual and non-destructive examinations, and documenting findings in clear inspection reports. The role also involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues, supporting quality assurance and quality control processes, and contributing to continuous improvement of inspection methods. The Senior Welding Inspector is expected to uphold high safety and quality standards while mentoring junior inspectors and promoting best practices in welding inspection.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Welding Inspection and Welding, with the ability to interpret welding procedures, codes, and standards.
• Proficiency in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, ensuring consistent application of project and regulatory requirements.
• Solid background in Inspection activities, including visual inspection and non-destructive testing coordination.
• Relevant certifications such as CSWIP, AWS CWI, or equivalent welding inspection qualifications.
• Technical diploma or engineering degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or a related discipline.
• Experience in industrial projects (e.g., oil and gas, energy, infrastructure) with a focus on welded structures.
• Strong report-writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
