Job summary

Wood is a global leader seeking a seasoned Commissioning Leader to head the project Commissioning team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will champion safety, drive planning, and coordinate with contractors and ADNOC to deliver brownfield and island works.

You will mentor UAE Nationals, implement integrated safety plans, and ensure alignment with project objectives through effective leadership, communication, and risk management across multi-discipline interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Master's degree in management (or equivalent) preferred.
• 20+ years in oil & gas Commissioning Management on large projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good leadership, teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards.
• Ability to make independent judgments in quality issue resolution.
• Experience with contractors and suppliers and managing interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning planning teams to support project objectives.
• Coordinate with Contractor and Subcontractors to meet safety and execution goals.
• Interface with ADNOC for brownfield works and production operations.
• Ensure constructability and deliverables alignment with detailed design.
• Report progress and issues to Project Team.
• Mentor and develop UAE Nationals in commissioning disciplines.
• Foster safety as a core project objective across all activities.
• Support establishment of commissioning organization and resourcing.
