Job summary

Unknown Worlds seeks an experienced Animator to create expressive, high-quality animations that meet project requirements. You will push visual excellence, work with the animation lead, design and narrative teams, and help ensure efficient delivery tools and pipelines within Unreal Engine and Blender workflows.

Requirements include 7+ years as an Animator, at least one shipped Unreal Engine title in animation, proficiency in Unreal Engine, and Blender experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an Animator.
• Minimum of one shipped Unreal Engine title in an Animation role.
• Proficiency working directly in Unreal Engine.
• Experience with Blender and related animation software.
• Extensive knowledge of animation pipelines.
• Strong documentation and debugging skills.
• Ability to mentor junior team members.
• Strong understanding of art fundamentals and aesthetic judgment.

Responsibilities

• Create animations that meet the aesthetic and technical requirements of the project.
• Set a high visual bar and push for elevated quality.
• Work with animation lead and Technical Art to ensure efficient delivery tools and technology.
• Collaborate with design and narrative to ensure responsive and expressive assets.
• Self-manage timeboxes and production workload to meet milestone goals.
• Improve animation processes, workflows, and pipelines.
• Respond to feedback and iterate on assets.
• Utilize keyframe and motion capture techniques.
• Develop expert-level knowledge of game engine animation tools.
