Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecom Engineer to join our Engineering team for onshore oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing and managing the telecom systems design across various stages of the engineering lifecycle including FEED (Front‑End Engineering Design), Detailed Engineering and Detailed Design.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the telecom engineering activities during the FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of onshore oil & gas projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as telecom philosophies, specifications, datasheets, drawings and calculations for systems including but not limited to:
    • Fibre optic and copper cabling systems
    • CCTV systems
    • PAGA systems
    • Access control and intrusion detection
    • Structured cabling systems (SCS)
    • Telephone and LAN networks
    • VSAT and radio systems (VHF/UHF/TETRA)
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (Instrumentation, Electrical, Process, Civil etc.) to ensure complete integration of telecom systems within the overall project design.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and vendor document reviews for telecom packages.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant international codes and client specifications (such as ADNOC, Aramco, etc.).
  • Provide technical support during design reviews (HSE, Model Reviews, FAT, SAT).
  • Participate in risk assessments (HAZOP, SIL) and constructability reviews as needed.
  • Provide mentorship to junior telecom engineers and guide design teams.
  • Support procurement and construction teams during pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases if required.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10‑15 years of experience in Telecom Engineering with at least 10 years in the onshore oil and gas sector.
  • Proven expertise in FEED, Detailed Engineering and Detailed Design.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, ITU, TIA/EIA, NFPA, NEC).
  • Strong experience with EPC projects and working with major oil & gas clients (e.g., ADNOC, Aramco).
  • Proficiency in telecom design tools and AutoCAD or similar drafting applications.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
