The Emirates Group IT is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer - Data Centre Facilities in Dubai to design, develop, and deliver robust data solutions that align with business needs and corporate standards. You will lead technical teams and ensure availability, capacity, security, and reliability across data-centre operations.

You will guide project teams, drive architectural decisions, and ensure compliance with standards while mentoring high-performing engineers within Emirates Group IT.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data-centre facilities
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA-942, ISO standards and local regulations
• Strong vendor management and project management
• Mandatory professional certifications in data-centre design, operations or facilities management

Responsabilités

• Provide expert technical consultancy to Emirates Group IT and lead project teams on solution delivery.
• Develop IT solutions that meet customer requirements and align with enterprise standards.
• Ensure architecture and solutions meet service levels for availability, capacity, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with IT teams to monitor ongoing technology and configure incident management at levels 1 & 2.
• Lead changes within the technology area and maintain high-quality design and deployment documentation.

The role will serve as a technical expert and consultant within the technology area, providing guidance to Emirates Group IT (EGIT) teams and ensuring the successful delivery of assigned work packages. By bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, the role will drive innovation, foster high-performing technical teams, and support the adoption of new technologies. This position is critical to ensuring that developed solutions meet service-level expectations in terms of availability, capacity, performance, security, and reliability while adhering to enterprise development standards and methodologies.In this role, you will:Provide expert technical consultancy and guidance to EGIT dealing within the technology area and act as lead technical member in the project team delivering the work packages assigned. Foster the development of high-performing technical teams to meet strategic architectural objectivesDevelop IT Solutions that meet customer requirements. Ensure that the design is robust, appropriate and of high quality and conforming to corporate standards and in line with the technical strategy.Ensure that the developed architecture/solution meets the service level requirements in terms of expected availability, capacity, continuity, security, performance and reliability.Develop solution architectures for assigned projects with the established EA standards and also support the development of technology advancements and adaptation of new technologies.Collaborate with other IT Technology teams to implement ongoing monitoring of the relevant technology to ensure level 1 & 2 incidents are configured within EMS.Guide Project Manager/Technology team managers for solution definition, technical design and development of in-house developed solutions. These are to be delivered as per agreed costs and timescales to meet signed-off functional, technical and process requirements.Ensure that assigned incidents are resolved within the agreed service levels and problems are defined and analysed in line with the Problem Management Process. Ensure that solutions to problems meet the architectural and security standards within the technology area and that impact on the business is minimised. Own and manage changes within the technology area.Publish and maintain high-quality documentation and data catalogue for the technology area. Working within the standard templates and documentation guidelines which includes detailed design, configuration details, support procedures, operations manuals and deployments architecture to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and governance across systems..Manage End-of-life replacement of equipment and/or software within the technology area to ensure conformance to technical standards and support the technology initiatives and directions.Ensure the process and enhancement specifications are translated into effective programs with error-free code using the enterprise development tools, methods and languages.QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the requirements below:Degree in Information Technology and 5+ years of relevant experience in data-centre facilities, with strong knowledge of critical infrastructure and operations, maintenance, compliance, vendor management and project management.Knowledge of electrical power infrastructure, cooling, structured cabling, fire and safety, physical security and project management.Strong knowledge of data-centre infrastructure and operations, including power, cooling, structured cabling, redundancy, high availability, Tier classifications and critical systems such as UPS, generators, cooling systems and fire suppression.Understanding of capacity planning, risk management, preventive and predictive maintenance, incident response, SOPs and MOPs, and day-to-day environmental and critical-systems monitoring.Knowledge of data-centre compliance requirements and standards, including ANSI/TIA-942, relevant ISO standards and local regulations, together with vendor, contract and SLA management, energy efficiency and sustainable data-centre practices.Mandatory professional certification in data-centre design, operations or facilities management, such as CDCP, CDCS, CDFOM, CDFOS, Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD), Accredited Operations Specialist (AOS), or an equivalent industry/vendor certification.Leadership Role: NoSalary & benefitsJoin us in Dubai and enjoy an attractive tax-free salary and travel benefits that are exclusive to our industry, including discounts on flights and hotel stays around the world.
