Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a Technical/Design Coordinator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Qualifications

  • Mandatory proven experience working on high-rise or mid-rise building projects (G+20 and above).
  • Strong expertise in reviewing structural and architectural drawings.
  • Solid understanding of local authority approval processes and building codes in Dubai/UAE.

Responsibilities

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Review & Approval: Conduct detailed technical reviews and cross‑discipline coordination (Architectural, Structural, MEP, ID) of all Issued‑For‑Construction (IFC) drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Design Coordination: Serve as the primary technical liaison between the site team, design consultants, and in‑house design departments to efficiently resolve all design‑related issues and discrepancies.
  • Site Support & Problem Solving: Provide immediate, practical, and technically sound solutions to on‑site issues and technical queries (RFIs) to prevent delays and maintain construction progress.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities and materials strictly adhere to approved IFC drawings, project specifications, and relevant UAE authority regulations (e.g., DM, DDA, DCD, DEWA).
  • Document Control: Manage and maintain a clear, up‑to‑date log of all technical submittals, RFIs, design modifications, and execution issues.
  • Value Engineering: Identify and propose value engineering opportunities for structural and architectural elements without compromising quality, performance, or design intent.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior technical staff and site engineers on best practices and technical standards.
