Job summary

STAR Services in Abu Dhabi, UAE seeks an experienced System Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex server and cloud infrastructure on-site. You will ensure uptime, security, and scalable architecture across hybrid environments.

With 10+ years of relevant experience, you will configure VMware, Hyper-V, and KVM, manage networks, storage, and backups, and lead critical IT projects. This contract-hire role offers growth, facing offshore exposure as required and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent is required.
MCSE & Azure Solution Architect certifications are desirable.
CCNA and VMware VCP certifications are required.
ITIL and RHCSA certifications are desirable.
CDTP, AWS/Azure Cloud certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyse business needs to plan and build server infrastructure and cloud components.
Ensure server uptime, availability, reliability, and security.
Set up user accounts, monitor performance, and maintain systems.
Follow change, patch, incident, and capacity management processes.
Administer servers, security permissions, GPOs, and print services.
Monitor datacentre health and respond to hardware issues.
Integrate cloud-based systems with on-premises infrastructure.
Document all server implementations and maintenance activities.
