Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Structure Engineer in Abu Dhabi to supervise the erection and installation of steel structures for Overground metro stations, including platforms and roofing systems. You will ensure on-site work aligns with drawings, specifications and international standards while coordinating with contractors and design teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural degree with 15+ years in building projects, strong steel fabrication knowledge, and proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in building projects.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, bolting and erection techniques.
• Familiarity with structural drawings, connection detailing and construction sequencing.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the erection and installation of steel structures for OG metro stations, including platforms, concourses, foot overbridges and roofing systems.
• Ensure all structural works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications and relevant codes (IS, IRC, Eurocode, etc.).
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and internal teams to resolve technical issues on-site.
• Monitor construction progress, quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed reports on structural works, including non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Review and verify shop drawings, method statements and material submittals related to steel structures.
• Liaise with design teams to address site-related design modifications or clarifications.
• Ensure proper documentation of inspections, approvals and quality records.

Overview
