Job summary

KEO Group is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer - Design Review in the UAE, with a strong focus on steel structures and independent technical reviews. You will lead high-level reviews for major projects, assess complex steel systems, and ensure compliance with international codes.

Requirements include 20 years in structural engineering, CAT-2/CAT-3 experience, and professional credentials (CEng/PE).

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
Master's Degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Minimum 20 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
Extensive experience with steel and reinforced concrete buildings.
Minimum 15 years of consultancy experience preferred.
Experience in independent technical/design reviews (CAT-2/CAT-3 or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
Strong knowledge of SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, and ASTM.
Strong analytical, technical reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Lead independent technical design reviews of complex steel and reinforced concrete building structures.
Provide expert assessment of advanced steel structural systems, including long-span structures and complex connections.
Conduct independent technical assessments comparable to CAT-2/CAT-3 design reviews, including self-check calculations.
Verify safety, stability, and compliance of structural designs.
Identify and document required design modifications and provide technical recommendations.
Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and design assumptions.
Assess soil-structure interaction, settlement predictions, and lateral soil pressure considerations.
Review façade structural systems and cladding support frames.
Ensure designs comply with international standards including SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, ASTM.
Prepare detailed design review reports, memoranda, and technical recommendations.
Provide technical support to the client during tendering, construction, and value engineering.
Review proposed design changes and VE solutions for safety, compliance, and constructability.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to resolve interface issues.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on structural engineering matters throughout the project lifecycle.
