Job summary

Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a Work Placement Coordinator to support annual planning, development of employment opportunities, and on-campus placement events.

You will liaise with faculty, Academic Advisors and the Outreach and Engagement team to implement placement schedules, interviews, and related employer communications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, full English and Arabic proficiency, and at least four years of work placement experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Full English and Arabic proficiency are required.
• Intermediate computer literacy is required (e.g. MS Office).
• Minimum of four years of work experience in Work Placement or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support annual plans to expand employment opportunities for students on campus.
• Assist in developing and communicating an up-to-date calendar for work placement events and career fairs.
• Coordinate with faculty, Academic Advisors and Outreach and Engagement for effective implementation of work placement plans.
• Assist in scheduling on-campus recruitment events.
• Develop materials to promote placement opportunities in collaboration with Outreach and Engagement.
• Support work experience orientations and workshops.
• Monitor placement activities in accordance with schedules.
• Arrange interviews with students for employers in a timely manner.
• Provide information and guidance to students from interview to internship completion.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of employer and student information and related data.

• Support with the development and communication of an up-to-date calendar for annual work placement events and career fairs organised.
• Liaise with faculty members, Academic Advisors and Outreach and Engagement for the effective and efficient implementation of work placement plans.
• Support with the scheduling of on-campus recruitment events.
• Support with the development of materials to increase awareness of, and promote, placement opportunities to students in collaboration with the Outreach and Engagement section.
• Support with the implementation of work experience orientations and workshops.
• Monitor the effective and efficient placement of students during the academic year in compliance with work placement schedules.
• Arrange interviews with students on behalf of employers in a timely manner.
• Provide continuous support and guidance to students from initial interview to the completion of the internship.
• Provide necessary information and documentation to employers related to students.
• Develop and maintain an up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive database covering employer and student information as well as work placement-related data.
