Job summary

Quartermaster is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to own automated test frameworks, validation tooling, and integration pipelines for our edge platforms and back-office systems. You will design tests, automate verification, and ensure reliable data flows from hardware to cloud across distributed systems.

The role emphasizes fast iteration, pragmatic architecture, and collaboration with software, hardware, and operations teams to ship high-quality software rapidly.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software test engineering or test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java for building automated test suites and tooling.
• Solid experience testing RESTful APIs, integration services, and data flows across microservices.
• Strong SQL and database query skills for validating data correctness and pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and containerized deployment environments.
• Clear written and verbal communication with direct collaboration and fast execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy automated test frameworks and internal validation tools used by software, hardware, and operations teams.
• Develop end-to-end integration tests, regression suites, and ETL data quality checks to validate system telemetry and third-party API integrations.
• Build backend integration services and test automation scripts to simulate real-world environments.
• Establish monitoring, automated alerting, and CI/CD testing pipelines for continuous quality across deployments.
• Investigate complex software, firmware, and data integration failures across distributed systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define test plans, qualification procedures, and performance benchmarks.
