Job summary

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University in Dubai seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead end-to-end software development, from requirements and design through deployment and maintenance, across web, mobile, and enterprise platforms.

You will implement cloud-native solutions, integrate services and APIs, ensure ISMS-aligned security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable applications. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
• Certifications in PHP, .NET, Mobile development and AWS Cloud Development are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of modern web technologies and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, and deploy software solutions following industry best practices.
• Develop and integrate web services and APIs, including SSO and other system integrations.
• Adopt and implement cloud-native services and automated deployment.
• Monitor, maintain, customize, upgrade, and generate reports for applications.
• Document system requirements, technical specifications, workflows, and code comments.
• Conduct comprehensive testing including functional, unit, stress, regression, and smoke tests before deployment.
• Provide second-level support for IT escalations and manage business support requests.
• Research and recommend new technologies to enhance performance and reliability.
• Ensure application and data security and comply with ISMS guidelines.

About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for managing the complete software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This role involves enhancing, troubleshooting, supporting, integrating, and maintaining existing applications while ensuring adherence to software development best practices and information security standards. The Senior Software Engineer will work with various technologies across web, mobile, and enterprise platforms, leveraging cloud-native services and modern frameworks to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• check_circle Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• check_circle Certifications in PHP, .NET, Mobile development, and AWS Cloud Development.
• check_circle Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, Laravel, Drupal, Moodle, Zend Framework, and WordPress for Smart Learning applications.
• check_circle Experience with .NET, SharePoint Online, C#, SOAP, Dynamics GP, Salesforce, Banner, and K2 for enterprise systems.
• check_circle Expertise in mobile and wearable technologies such as Swift, XCode, Java, Kotlin, Eclipse, Ionic, Flutter, and React Native.
• check_circle Strong knowledge of cloud services, web services, REST APIs, caching, queuing, and source control tools (GIT, Azure DevOps).
• check_circle Understanding of AI and ML fundamentals, including model development, implementation, and optimization techniques.
• check_circle Excellent time management, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• check_circle Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure in a diverse environment.
• check_circle Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
