Job summary

Air Arabia is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability for mission-critical Java-based applications and passenger service systems. You will drive SRE practices, monitor and improve performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness.

The role requires 6–8 years in software engineering, SRE, or production support, with hands-on Docker/Kubernetes and strong SQL/Oracle skills. Airline domain experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Information Technology.
• Fluent in English language.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and troubleshooting complex production issues.
• Airline, aviation, or travel industry experience with PSS is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and Oracle Database is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead Site Reliability Engineering initiatives for Java-based microservices and monolithic apps.
• Define and manage SLAs, SLOs, and error budgets to improve reliability.
• Conduct RCA for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Drive architectural changes for performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Mentor team on incident management, production support, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams.
• Own CI/CD standards, GitOps, and infrastructure automation strategy.
• Set containerization strategy with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Own on-call escalation framework and lead post-incident reviews.
• Evaluate new tools and report reliability metrics to management.
