Senior Site Engineer - Building Services Leader

Job summary

AESG is seeking a Senior Site Engineer in Dubai to lead on-site activities for building services projects. You will act as a technical authority within the project team, mentor colleagues, and support delivery of project scope with a focus on quality and safety at site.

The ideal candidate holds an MEP/Building Services Engineering degree, a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, and 10+ years of relevant experience, with CSA Grade 5 and optional commissioning credentials.

Qualifications

• MEP/Building Services Engineering degree required.
• BSc Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience.
• CSA Grade 5 qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Commissioning authority certification with BCA/ACG/NEBB is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, health and safety and applicable standards.
• Review shop drawings, red marked drawings, as built drawings, method statements, technical submittals against project specifications and documentation.
• Prepare reports such as NCR, SOR, snag list and RFIs.
• Review contractor BIM clash detection for any major issues.
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice.
• Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner.
• Liaise with contractors and its commissioning team in a professional manner.
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guideline.
• Participate in coordination meetings and workshops when required.
• Technical authority and leader within the project team and division.
• Support, mentor, and train colleagues.
• Track completion of tasks, prepare lookaheads and trackers for project milestones.
• Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site.
• Coordinate with other site supervision engineers (mechanical, ID, etc.) for the site coordination of related services.
