Job summary

WSP USA in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Technical Director – Roads & Highways to lead our Transport & Infrastructure design practice. You will set strategic direction, oversee major design programs, and mentor multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality infrastructure projects across the emirate.

The role requires extensive road/highway design expertise, deep knowledge of Abu Dhabi Authority standards, and a track record of delivering complex schemes, from concept through construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 20+ years of Roads & Highways design experience.
• 10+ years UAE/Abu Dhabi experience.
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of roads, highways, interchanges, and corridor development projects.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects with scope, schedule, budget, and quality adherence.
• Manage design teams, sub-consultants, and stakeholder interfaces for coordination and issue resolution.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support business development through technical proposals, design strategies, and client presentations.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to engineers and project managers.
