Job summary

EDGE is seeking a Senior Researcher to support security evaluation of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, software, and hardware. Your role includes hands‑on cybersecurity testing, vulnerability analysis, and producing high‑quality assessments aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity evaluation, penetration testing, vulnerability research, software security assessment, hardware security testing, embedded systems security, reverse engineering, or secure product development.
  • Hands‑on experience in firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development, debug interface testing, Side‑Channel Analysis, Fault Injection, cryptographic implementation testing, or embedded device security testing.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity testing methodologies, vulnerability assessment practices, penetration testing techniques, and relevant security standards.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or equivalent cybersecurity training are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze products, firmware, software, hardware components, interfaces, and technical documentation to identify attack surfaces and potential security risks.
  • Execute security testing activities including vulnerability assessments, firmware analysis, reverse engineering, fuzzing, logical attacks, debug interface testing, Side‑Channel Analysis, Fault Injection, cryptographic testing, and hardware security assessments.
  • Collect, review, and analyze technical evidence such as logs, traces, binaries, signal captures, measurement data, and test outputs.
  • Document findings, vulnerabilities, and test results in clear, structured technical reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of testing activities, tools, configurations, evidence, and results to ensure full traceability.
  • Follow established procedures, quality requirements, information security controls, and applicable cybersecurity standards.
  • Support researchers in planning, executing, and delivering evaluation projects.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of testing methodologies, scripts, tools, and reusable procedures.
  • Participate in technical reviews, audits, knowledge‑sharing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Researcher to support the security evaluation of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, software, and hardware devices. In this role, you will perform hands‑on cybersecurity testing, vulnerability analysis, and technical assessments to identify security weaknesses and support risk‑based conclusions. Working closely with management and senior researchers, you will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality product security evaluations aligned with industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Hands‑on experience in at least one of the following areas: firmware analysis, fuzzing, exploit development, debug interface testing, Side‑Channel Analysis, Fault Injection, cryptographic implementation testing, or embedded device security testing.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity testing methodologies, vulnerability assessment practices, penetration testing techniques, and relevant security standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and other cybersecurity or quality standards is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, or equivalent cybersecurity, hardware security, or reverse engineering training are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and technical reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Applied Cryptography, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of advanced hardware security testing and cryptographic implementation assessments.
