Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Senior Track and Civil Engineer to join our Rail & Transit team. This role supports and leads complex transportation projects across all phases—from planning to construction—working with senior managers and multidisciplinary teams.

The Track and Civil Engineer will lead the planning, design, and delivery of rail track infrastructure across the U.S., with expertise in track geometry, alignments, corridor integration, and constructibility. This role can be based in any U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in rail track design (light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail, intercity or freight).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one US state (or able to obtain licensure via reciprocity).
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as discipline lead for track design on major rail and transit projects across the U.S.
• Lead development of horizontal and vertical alignments, turnouts, crossovers, and yard layouts.
• Oversee preparation and review of engineering plans, specs, design criteria, and technical reports.
• Conduct corridor studies, constructability analyses, phasing plans, and design alternatives.
• Coordinate with signaling, traction power, OCS, communications, civil, structural, and geotechnical teams.
