Job summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City - SSMC is seeking a seasoned radiographer to independently perform general radiography and MRI procedures. You will analyze imagery, report to supervision, and supervise junior staff, ensuring compliance with department rules and optimal image quality.

The role requires extensive postgraduate experience in multimodality radiology, including OR/trauma fluoroscopy, with licensing appropriate to the UAE.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate radiography experience with multimodality site exposure.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in radiography with current licensing.
• Experience supervising junior staff and maintaining inventory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee junior staff adherence to department rules and policies.
• Maintain adequate supplies and equipment for duties.
• Order and replenish materials as needed.
• Perform MRI procedures per department protocols.
• Evaluate image quality and forward to Radiologist for review.
• Advise staff on appropriate imaging techniques.
• Direct and monitor procedures carried out by juniors under supervision.
• Ensure safe and competent use of radiology equipment.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for independently performing all general radiography imagery procedures, analyzing output and reporting to supervisor as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees and supervises junior staff and ensures their abidance to going rules and policies as applied and implemented in the department
• Maintains a sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for the performance of duties
• Manages and reports shortage of materials to supervisor at the earliest convenience, ordering and approving replenishments when necessary
• Performs all MRI procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols
• Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards the images to the Radiologist for review and reporting
• Provides advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques
• Directs and monitors all procedures carried out by junior staff under supervision and step in whenever there is a requirement
• Manages and is responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department

Accountabilities

• Ensures clear images for diagnostic purposes
• Monitors and develops as necessary quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement & compliance with patient care standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience :-

Required

• NLT 4 years of postgraduate experience in a multimodality site /facility including OR, Trauma fluoroscopy and general radiology in an acute care hospital (of which NLT 2 years as a senior radiographer in an acute care hospital).
• UAE National: NLT 2 years relevant experience in an acute care hospital
• NLT 6 years postgraduate experience in a multimodality site /facility including OR, Trauma, fluoroscopy and general radiology in an acute care hospital (of which NLT 3 years as a senior radiographer in an acute care hospital).
• UAE National: NLT 3 years relevant experience in an acute care hospital

Educational Qualification: Required

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program
• Two (2) years of experience post qualification in the general radiology field
• Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration)
• Associate degree in Radiography program
• (minimum two (2) years course duration)
• And
• Registration/certification or accreditation as a radiographer
• AND Current National License

Desired

• Master's in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical Msc in related field. (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience
