Job summary

TALENT ONE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Project Director with a Civil Engineering background to lead the construction and delivery of depot and terminal facilities for a major high-speed rail project in the UAE. The role demands strong leadership of main-contractors, robust delivery strategies and stakeholder coordination.

You will oversee safety, quality, budgets, interfaces with track, MEP and railway systems, and ensure timely approvals and handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 20+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years as Project Director or equivalent on major rail or infrastructure projects.
• Delivery of rail depots, maintenance workshops or rail terminal facilities.
• Strong main-contractor experience with budgets, subcontractors and site execution.
• Knowledge of civil/structural works and interfaces with railway systems.
• UAE/GCC experience preferred; high-speed rail experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery from design coordination and mobilisation through construction, commissioning support and final handover.
• Direct civil, structural and building works, including depot workshops, maintenance facilities, operational buildings, yards, utilities and external infrastructure.
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, procurement, subcontractors, resources and construction milestones.
• Coordinate civil interfaces with track, MEP, rail systems, depot equipment and operational requirements.
• Lead client, consultant, JV partner and authority coordination, ensuring timely approvals and resolution of delivery issues.
• Oversee contractual obligations, variations, claims, risk mitigation and recovery programmes.
• Drive HSE, quality and team performance across all construction activities.
