Job summary

Wood is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our UAE team, focusing on coordinating process engineering for large-scale Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects. The role is full-time on-site in Dubai, UAE, with a track record in major offshore developments.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years in oil & gas, strong FEED/Detailed Engineering credentials, and PMC experience, enabling robust coordination across disciplines and client interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or process engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas.
• Extensive experience in Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
• PMC experience is highly preferred.
• Experience delivering FEED and Detailed Engineering for major offshore projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate process engineering activities for upstream offshore oil and gas projects.
• Develop and review process deliverables: PFDs, P&IDs, process design basis documents, heat and material balances, process datasheets.
• Run process simulations and design studies using industry-standard software.
• Prepare equipment process specifications for separators, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, dehydration units, and treatment systems.
• Support process safety activities (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA) and review vendor documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface with clients, PMC teams, EPC contractors, and vendors.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experiencedSenior Process Engineerto join our Iraq Business Unit.

This Project aims to take over the existing asset and maximize the production in 2 phases. This is a fast-track project and schedule-oriented Design to enhance the production.

The Phase 1 will restore, upgrade, and develop the current plant (CPF1) including: Restoration of initial CPF1 capacity; building a new export pipeline (24", ~30km); restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability; flaring elimination and released water; development of new flowlines, pads, and electrification network for approximately 30 new wells; debottlenecking of the plant; upgrade of the Safety and Security facilities.

Our scope is to provide Engineering, Procurement services and Construction assistance (EPsCa) for the initial development phase of the field in Southern Iraq. The scope of services includes FEED, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance.

Job Description:

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for executing and coordinating process engineering activities for large-scale Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects throughout all phases of project development, including Conceptual Studies, FEED, Detailed Design, EPC, Commissioning, and Start-up. The role involves developing process engineering deliverables, supporting multidisciplinary coordination, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, client standards, and international codes. The ideal candidate will have extensive offshore oil and gas experience, preferably within a PMC environment, and a strong track record of delivering major projects in the Middle East/GCC region.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform and coordinate process engineering activities for upstream offshore oil and gas projects.
• Develop and review process engineering deliverables including:
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Process Design Basis Documents
  • Heat and Material Balances
  • Process Datasheets
  • Utility Summaries
  • Process Narratives
  • Relief and Flare System Calculations
• Conduct process simulations, calculations, and design studies using industry-standard software.

• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support project planning, resource management, and schedule compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior process engineers and graduate engineers.
• Interface with clients, PMC teams, EPC contractors, and vendors on technical matters.

Expected:
