About Us

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Private Equity Valuation Specialist to oversee the valuation of private equity investments, portfolio companies, and other illiquid financial assets. This role is responsible for developing and reviewing valuation models, assessing financial performance, analyzing market conditions, and ensuring that valuations are well-supported, consistent, and compliant with applicable accounting standards and internal valuation policies.

The successful candidate will work closely with investment teams, fund managers, finance professionals, external valuation advisers, and auditors to deliver reliable valuation assessments and strengthen valuation governance across private investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Private Equity Valuation: Perform and review valuations of private equity investments, portfolio companies, minority interests, buyout investments, growth equity holdings, and other privately held assets.
  • Valuation Methodologies: Apply appropriate valuation approaches, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, and relevant market-based methodologies.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop, maintain, and review detailed financial models incorporating revenue forecasts, operating margins, cash flows, capital expenditure, discount rates, and terminal values.
  • Investment Performance Assessment: Analyze portfolio company financial statements, business plans, operating performance, debt structures, and future growth assumptions to assess fair value.
  • Market and Industry Analysis: Evaluate market conditions, sector trends, comparable company multiples, transaction benchmarks, and macroeconomic developments that may affect investment valuations.
  • Fair Value Measurement: Ensure valuations are supported by appropriate assumptions, reliable evidence, and documented judgments in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Valuation Review and Challenge: Independently assess valuation models, key assumptions, methodology selection, discount rates, liquidity considerations, and adjustments proposed by investment teams or external advisers.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor valuation movements across reporting periods, investigate significant changes, and distinguish between changes in underlying business performance and changes in market assumptions.
  • Complex Investment Assessment: Evaluate complex capital structures, preferred equity, convertible instruments, shareholder loans, earn‑outs, contingent consideration, and other equity‑linked investments where applicable.
  • Fund Reporting Support: Provide valuation inputs and supporting analysis for quarterly and annual fund reporting, financial statements, investor reports, and management presentations.
  • Valuation Governance: Maintain valuation policies, model documentation, approval records, sensitivity analyses, and supporting evidence to ensure a transparent and auditable valuation process.
  • Audit and Regulatory Support: Coordinate with external auditors, independent valuation specialists, and compliance teams to address valuation queries and provide supporting documentation.
  • Risk and Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the impact of changes in operating assumptions, market multiples, discount rates, and exit expectations.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance valuation models, reporting templates, data management procedures, and review controls to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with investment professionals, fund accounting teams, risk management, legal advisers, and external service providers on complex valuation matters.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance to junior valuation professionals, review analytical work, and promote consistent application of valuation methodologies and professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline. A master's degree is advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent credentials are preferred.
  • Significant experience in private equity valuation, transaction advisory, investment banking, private equity, valuation consulting, or investment fund valuation.
  • Strong understanding of private equity investment structures, portfolio company financial analysis, and fair value measurement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in DCF modeling, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and valuation sensitivity analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and interpreting complex financial statements.
  • Familiarity with IFRS 13, relevant fair value measurement principles, and applicable accounting standards. Knowledge of IPEV Valuation Guidelines is an advantage.
  • Experience valuing illiquid investments, minority holdings, complex capital structures, and privately held companies.
