Job Overview
Senior Pricing Actuary / Analyst role holder will involve assessing reinsurance treaties, developing and pricing products, and ensuring compliance with professional standards, while supporting cross‑functional teams.
What you Do
- Reinsurance treaty assessment including setting prices, guidelines, authority etc.
- Product development including benefit design and pricing
- Assess impact of changes in benefits, guidelines, regulations etc.
- Set key actuarial assumptions like medical trend, IBNR & seasonality factors
- Underwrite large tenders and key accounts
- Experience analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Develop, test and maintain pricing tools used for underwriting
- Peer review work of colleagues
- Prepare executive summaries and detailed pricing notes, with proper documentation of methodologies
- Uphold professional standards in technical work and communicate findings to management or clients
- Support sales and business development teams in client negotiations
- Engage with claims, policy administration, tariff management teams etc.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance standards
- Streamline existing processes and develop new ones
- Train and onboard new team members.
What you bring
- Minimum of 5 exams passed from SOA, IFoA or any other reputable actuarial institute.
- Bachelor’s degree; Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in the MEA Health / Medical line of business; UAE experience preferred.
- 4+ years in actuarial pricing; experience with advanced pricing methods (e.g. GLMs) is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; strong skills in Word and VBA also required.
- Experience with Power BI or Alteryx is beneficial.
Skills
- High numerical ability, with the capacity to analyse and interpret complex data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus
Physically fit to perform duties and legally permitted to work in the country.
