Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Project Engineer in Abu Dhabi to coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for high-profile energy projects. You will ensure safety, schedule, cost, and quality targets meet client and industry standards, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams across phases.

Applicants should have 10+ years in EPC/PMC environments, strong English communication, and proficiency with Primavera P6/MS Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or related).
• Typically 10+ years of experience in EPC/PMC environments.
• PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor engineering activities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
• Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure effective project execution.
• Monitor project progress and report on schedule, cost, and technical performance.
• Support the development and implementation of project plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Review contractor and vendor submissions and provide technical evaluations.
• Assist in identifying project risks, technical issues, and potential delays, and support mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical discussions.
• Coordinate interfaces between different disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Support procurement activities, including material and equipment reviews and vendor coordination.
• Monitor construction and commissioning activities to ensure technical requirements are met.
• Ensure adherence to HSE and quality management systems throughout project execution.
• Prepare progress reports, technical correspondence, and project documentation.
• Support project close‑out, commissioning, start‑up, and handover activities.
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to project team members when required.
