Job summary

Senior Planning Engineer at AECOM in the United Arab Emirates will lead the scheduling efforts across design, procurement and construction. You will coordinate with the supervision team, contractor and client to ensure milestones are met and delays mitigated.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Proven experience in developing and managing complex project schedules for stormwater, microtunneling, sewerage and roadworks.
• Strong understanding of EOT evaluation, CPA and resource-loaded schedules.
• Hands-on experience in Primavera P6, MS Excel and other project control tools.
• Prior UAE experience essential with preference for RTA and Dubai Municipality projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
• Review and evaluate the Contractors baseline programme ensuring compliance with contract requirements, sequencing logic and resource allocation.
• Monitor and analyze the progress of construction activities, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and supervision team to verify progress on site and ensure updates are reflected in the schedule.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting activities, milestones, delays, risks and recovery measures.
• Evaluate and verify Contractors EOT claims, delay analyses and revised programmes per contract procedures.
• Develop progress measurement systems and performance indicators for project control and reporting.
• Conduct trend analyses and what-if scenarios to assess impact of changes and mitigation plans.
• Support cash flow forecasts, resource histograms and manpower projections.
• Coordinate planning deliverables with Cost Control, Engineering, Procurement and Construction teams.
• Participate in progress meetings presenting schedule status and recovery strategies to client and stakeholders.
• Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager in risk identification and mitigation planning.
• Ensure compliance with AECOM PMO procedures including documentation and data integrity.
• Provide mentorship to junior planners and site engineers.
