Role Overview

Wood is recruiting a Senior Piping Engineer (Stress) for its UAE Business Unit to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The role is a full‑time onsite position responsible for planning, budgeting, organizing and controlling piping engineering deliverables for a high‑profile offshore capital project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume sole responsibility for assigned piping engineering work scopes.
  • Plan, budget, organize and control piping engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare piping deliverables ensuring compliance with engineering codes, standards and client policies.
  • Ensure all work is completed with uncompromised quality and delivered on schedule.
  • Provide direction and guidance on technical queries raised by internal and external parties.
  • Liaise with client engineering, operations and maintenance staff to ensure consistent project completion.
  • Promote safe behaviour at all times.
  • Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
  • Co‑ordinate with other disciplines during design, construction, pre‑commissioning and start‑up stages.
  • Assist in coordination of all activities related to piping engineering design.
  • Identify areas of concern regarding progress and quality and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in layouts, stress and materials engineering.
  • Brownfield project experience is mandatory.
  • Strong preference for experience working with multi‑national and multi‑cultural project teams.
  • Previous work experience in the Middle East is highly preferred.
