Job summary

McDermott International is seeking a Senior Principal Piping Designer to lead the piping design discipline on complex oil & gas projects in the UAE. The role requires deep expertise in 3D plant design and strong leadership within multi-disciplinary teams.

You will drive pre-FEED to detailed design activities, coordinate across disciplines, ensure design deliverables meet specifications, and mentor junior designers while maintaining schedule and budgets.

Qualifications

• 25+ years of oil & gas experience on Pre-FEED/FEED/Detailed Design projects.
• Advanced depth and breadth of expertise in Process Plant Design and 3D CAD systems like E3D or SP3D.
• Detailed knowledge of AutoCAD and collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
• Experience as Lead Designer and ability to manage multiple project tasks and teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the piping design team to meet schedule and budget.
• Develop 3D models and ensure clash-free designs with other disciplines.
• Coordinate design deliverables per project specs, McDermott standards, and procedures.
• Act as project liaison with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support Lead Piping Engineer with reviews, queries, and scope changes.
