Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd. seeks a Senior Principal Piping Designer to lead 3D modelling and piping design for complex projects. The role requires autonomous work within standards, mentoring design teams, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and other disciplines to ensure timely, safe, and quality deliverables.

The Senior Principal will manage resources, oversee interfaces, and contribute to project planning and execution in a multinational EPC environment in Dubai.

Qualifications

• High School diploma in Mechanical Design or Drafting; degree equivalency may be required.
• 25+ years of Oil and Gas experience with Pre-FEED/FEED/Detailed Design.
• Expertise in Process Plant Design and 3D CAD (E3D/SP3D).
• Detailed knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience as Lead Designer on large projects.
• Ability to lead teams and manage project interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and engineering for process facilities within schedule while maintaining safety and quality.
• Set priorities, organize work, forecast resources as Lead Designer.
• Develop 3D models and ensure clash-free coordination.
• Ensure deliverables meet project specs and procedures.
• Lead the design team to meet schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with Project Team, Client, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Manage design interfaces across disciplines.
• Support and supervise less-experienced team members.
