Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience required.
  • Experience in producing engineering deliverables.
  • Multi-national and multi-cultural project experience preferred.
  • Previous Middle East work experience is an advantage.
  • Experience of sour service operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pipeline design deliverables.
  • Provide input for documents and drawings.
  • Complete design calculations (e.g., wall thickness).

  • Material Take Offs and Requisitions.

Overview

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on preparing pipeline design deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Sharjah, UAE on 5 / 2 work schedule. This role is a full-time office-based role in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare pipeline design deliverables
  • Provide input to produce pipeline documents and drawings
  • Complete pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)
  • Provide field engineering support to perform site surveys and data gathering at various locations throughout the field
  • Complete Material Take Offs and associated Material Requisitions
  • Coordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluations
  • Identify optimization and operating cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations
  • Awareness of interdisciplinary activities and coordination such as PFD & P&ID\'s
  • Responsible for design team activities and assisting Senior Designer and Engineers
  • Assist in coordination of all activities related to pipeline discipline
  • Able to travel to Basra, Iraq as and when required
  • To promote safe behavior at all times
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Caesar II / Autopipe and awareness in Arc GIS, Autocad, Naviswork

Expected
  • Bachelor\'s degree in any engineering discipline although Chemical, or Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering are preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Experience in as building and producing engineering deliverables
  • Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
  • Experience of sour service operations would be an advantage
  • Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Pipeline engineering design
