Job summary

Wizejob is seeking a Consultant/Specialist Pediatrician in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai region, to oversee medical care for children from infancy to adolescence. The role requires a medical degree with pediatrics specialization and a valid license to practice, with a minimum of five years of pediatric experience.

The candidate will diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses, vaccinate according to government plans, and coordinate care with therapists, nurses, and other staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pediatrician
• Medical Degree with specialization in pediatrics
• Valid license to practice medicine
• Minimum five years of pediatric experience
• In depth knowledge of children epidemiology and infectious diseases
• Exquisite knowledge of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation principles and techniques

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular thorough examinations on newborns and young children to check and record their health and development
• Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history
• Keep abreast of advancements in pediatrics and best practices by attending seminars and conferences
• Advise parents on children's diet, exercise and disease preventive measures
• Prepare and administer vaccines according to governmental vaccination plan
• Keep updated records of patients' illnesses, surgeries or other medical episodes
• Recommend and manage treatment, medication, therapy, vaccinations and additional specialized medical care to prevent or treat diseases, injuries and illnesses; monitor progress and revise treatments as needed
• Advise and educate patients, parents and community members on activity, diet, hygiene and disease prevention methods
• Coordinate and supervise activities of therapists, assistants, nurses, students and other support staff; refer patients to a specialist or other physician when warranted
