Job summary

Allocation Assist Middle East invites a Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care to lead care for critically ill pediatric patients in a tertiary UAE setting.

The role covers preoperative stabilization, postoperative care, and management of cardiac emergencies with ECMO support. Candidates should have MBBS/MD, board certification, and a formal pediatric cardiac ICU fellowship, with 8–10 years post‑specialization experience.

Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Formal fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care is mandatory.
• 8–10 years of post-specialization experience in a high‑volume pediatric cardiac center.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical management of critically ill neonates, infants, and children in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU.
• Provide preoperative stabilization for congenital heart surgery or complex cardiac intervention.
• Manage postoperative recovery after congenital cardiac procedures.
• Assess and treat acute cardiovascular deterioration and pediatric emergencies.
• Oversee invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation per patient needs.
• Provide ECMO oversight and critical care management.
• Interpret advanced hemodynamic data to guide treatment decisions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on anatomy and physiology.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate cross-team priorities.
• Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons on complex cases.
• Coordinate with anesthesiologists, perfusionists, respiratory teams, and nurses.
• Review echocardiography and hemodynamic studies.
