Job summary

Senior PAUT Inspector in the United Arab Emirates conducts volumetric PAUT inspections using TF-MC and analyzes data to assess material integrity. You will mentor junior inspectors and contribute to technique development while maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities include reporting, safety compliance, and applying advanced NDT methods on oil & gas projects, with strong English communication for technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in oil & gas field projects including civil construction/commissioning of offshore and onshore installations.
• NDT certification ASNT Level II per SNT-TC-1A & ISO 9712 (UT and PAUT).
• CSWIP/AWS welding certifications for welding.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to write technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform PAUT inspections using TF/M-FMC and other advanced PAUT techniques.
• Analyze PAUT data and evaluate component integrity against acceptance criteria.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings and results.
• Mentor and train junior inspectors; provide guidance and oversight.
• Collaborate with UT Level 3s and NDE Engineers to develop and implement new/newly optimized NDE techniques.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PAUT equipment; coordinate with vendors for support and calibration.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and safety procedures during inspections.
• Participate in advanced NDT applications such as tube inspection, tank floor inspection, and guided wave.

Education

Diploma / Degree in mechanical Engineering

15+ years oil & gas project experience

ASNT Level II in Ultrasonic Testing & Phased Array

CSWIP/AWS welding certifications

Strong technical writing in English

Job Description:

A Senior PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing) Inspector is responsible for performing and leading inspections using advanced non-destructive testing techniques, primarily phased array ultrasonics, to assess the integrity of materials and components. They interpret data, evaluate results against established criteria, document findings, and mentor junior inspectors. They also contribute to the development of inspection techniques and the maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performing PAUT Inspections:

Conduct volumetric NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) inspections using established and advanced PAUT techniques, including Total Focusing Method/Full Matrix Capture (TFM/FMC).

• Data Interpretation and Evaluation:

Analyze and interpret acquired PAUT data to identify defects and assess component integrity based on specific acceptance criteria.

• Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare detailed and comprehensive reports documenting inspection findings and results.

• Mentorship and Training:

Provide guidance, training, and oversight to junior inspectors, sharing knowledge and expertise.

• Technique Development:

Collaborate with UT Level 3s and NDE Engineers to develop and implement new or optimized NDE techniques for complex parts.

• Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Work with vendors to troubleshoot and maintain PAUT equipment, ensuring optimal performance.

• Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety procedures during inspections.

• Advanced NDT Applications:

May be involved in advanced NDT techniques like tube inspection, tank floor inspection, and guided wave applications.

Qualifications:

• Diploma /Degree in mechanical Engineering.


• More than 15 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas field projects including experience in activities relevant to Civil in construction/commissioning of offshore and onshore oil and gas industry as applicable.


• NDT certification as per ASNT Level- II as Per SNT-TC- 1A & ISO 9712 (Ultrasonic Testing and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing)


• CSWIP/AWS welding certification for welding,


• Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports.


• Computer literate and familiarity with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.
