Job summary

Kamayi seeks an experienced data engineer to design, develop and maintain robust database solutions using Oracle and PL/SQL. You will build complex SQL, data models, and scalable data pipelines, while tuning performance for high-volume operations.

You will architect data warehousing and integration, translate requirements into production-ready solutions, ensure data integrity, and work with cloud platforms like Amazon Redshift. Strong BI/reporting skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 5–7 years of hands-on Oracle PL/SQL and data warehouse experience.
• Advanced SQL/PL/SQL with writing, debugging, and optimization of complex queries.
• Experience with bulk data processing in high-volume enterprise settings.
• Data modeling and schema design for OLTP and OLAP systems.
• Production-grade Oracle Database experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience delivering scalable data integration solutions.
• Strong reporting and BI/ETL capabilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Aviation or airline domain experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Database Design & Development: robust database solutions with Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Build and optimise complex SQL queries to support high-volume processing.
• Develop data models and schemas aligned with enterprise data standards.
• Apply bulk data processing techniques for large datasets.
• Performance tuning of SQL queries and data flows to meet SLAs.
• Data Warehousing & Integration: implement data integration and warehouse solutions.
• Translate requirements into scalable production-ready data solutions.
• End-to-end data transformation and analysis across diverse sources.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.
• Leverage cloud platforms like Redshift and AWS where applicable.
• Reporting & Data Insights: design/build reports using BI tools.
• Generate actionable insights and structured reports for stakeholders.
• Convert complex datasets into clear outputs for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain and enhance report libraries with accuracy and performance.
• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement: work with tech and business teams.
• Participate in requirements, design discussions, and solution reviews.
• Proactively resolve data issues and document designs and data flows.
