Job summary

Wood is seeking a PMC Commissioning Superintendent to lead offshore commissioning on a major Abu Dhabi project under the PMC framework for ADNOC. You will ensure safe, compliant, and timely commissioning, and handover readiness with a focus on quality and performance.

The role demands strong leadership, extensive offshore commissioning experience, and collaboration with construction, engineering, and operations teams to deliver project milestones and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process)
• Minimum 15 years in oil and gas projects with at least 5 years in commissioning on major offshore projects
• Proven experience in PMC roles on ADNOC or similar Middle East offshore developments
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes including pre-commissioning, systemization, testing, and start-up

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise offshore commissioning across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems
• Ensure implementation of commissioning procedures and system completion strategies per ADNOC requirements
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and operations teams for readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning
• Oversee systemization, punch listing, and handover documentation and certification
• Monitor EPC contractor commissioning performance to meet schedule, procedures and quality standards
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies, especially for live plant interfaces and SIMOPS offshore
• Review and approve commissioning dossiers, method statements, test procedures, and system completion certificates
• Identify commissioning risks and implement mitigation measures for safe and timely execution
• Interface with operations for smooth handover, start-up support, and operational acceptance
• Supervise functional testing, loop checks, energization, and start-up activities for offshore facilities
• Resolve technical issues and non-conformances during commissioning
• Track and report progress, readiness, and milestones to PMC and ADNOC management
• Support development and execution of integrated commissioning schedules
• Coordinate with multiple contractors, vendors, and inspectors during offshore commissioning
• Mentor commissioning engineers and supervisors on site
