Job summary

RAKBANK is seeking a Senior Officer – Treasury Operations (Fixed Income Desk) to manage the end-to-end post-trade lifecycle across Fixed Income Securities, Equities, Repo and Reverse Repo. This role ensures accurate settlement, lifecycle event management, and regulatory compliance while supporting Treasury Back Office excellence.

You will validate transactions, process secondary market trades, monitor coupon payments, and handle reconciliations with custodians and market infrastructures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or Economics.
• 5–8 years in Treasury Operations or related fields.
• Strong experience with Bonds, Sukuk, M-Bills, Equities, Repo, and Reverse Repo.
• Solid understanding of post-trade lifecycle and settlement processes.
• Experience in custody operations and treasury reconciliations.
• Knowledge of treasury accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Validate and authorize treasury transactions with Front Office teams.
• Process secondary market trades (bonds, sukuk, bills).
• End-to-end processing of equity trades and settlement.
• Monitor fixed income lifecycle events (coupons, maturities, redemptions).
• Manage Repo/Reverse Repo from validation to settlement.
• Investigate settlement failures and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform daily reconciliations of positions and statements.
• Support month/quarter/year-end closing and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations and audits.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.

Our Treasury Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the Banks investment and liquidity management activities while ensuring the highest standards of control and compliance.

As a Senior Officer – Treasury Operations (Fixed Income Desk), you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end post-trade lifecycle of Treasury and Investment products, including Fixed Income Securities, Equities, Repo, and Reverse Repo transactions. The role ensures accurate settlement, reconciliation, lifecycle event management, and regulatory compliance while supporting operational excellence across Treasury Back Office functions.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Validate and authorize treasury transactions initiated by Front Office teams, ensuring accuracy of trade economics, settlement instructions, counterparties, custodians, and SSIs.
• Process and manage secondary market transactions involving Government Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Sukuk, Treasury Bills, UAE Monetary Bills (M-Bills), EMTN, and other debt securities.
• Perform end-to-end processing of equity purchase and sale transactions while ensuring timely settlement and accounting.
• Monitor and process fixed income lifecycle events including coupon payments, profit distributions, maturities, redemptions, call events, and early repayments.
• Manage Repo and Reverse Repo transactions from trade validation through settlement and maturity, including collateral monitoring and interest calculations.
• Ensure timely settlement of treasury transactions through custodians, clearing agents, counterparties, and market infrastructures.
• Investigate and resolve settlement failures, unmatched trades, and operational exceptions within agreed timelines.
• Perform daily reconciliations of securities positions, custodian statements, Nostro accounts, treasury systems, and general ledger balances.
• Monitor and process corporate actions including dividends, stock splits, rights issues, bonus issues, mergers, and tender offers.
• Validate treasury accounting entries relating to accruals, coupon income, premiums, discounts, amortization, and redemption proceeds.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities while ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal policies, operational procedures, and audit requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Identify opportunities for STP enhancement, process automation, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Support new product implementations, system upgrades, UAT activities, and treasury transformation initiatives.

What Were Looking For:

• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as ACI, CISI, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• 5-8 years of experience in Treasury Operations, Treasury Back Office, Securities Operations, Capital Markets Operations, or Investment Operations.
• Strong hands-on experience in Bonds, Sukuk, Treasury Bills, M-Bills, Equities, Repo, and Reverse Repo products.
• Solid understanding of securities settlement processes and post-trade lifecycle management.
• Experience in custody operations, corporate actions processing, and treasury reconciliations.
• Knowledge of treasury accounting principles and investment operations.
• Proven experience working within a controlled and regulated banking environment.
