Job summary

A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking an experienced Specialist/Consultant Neonatologist to provide specialized medical care for newborns, including premature infants and critically ill neonates. The role involves managing neonatal conditions, supporting NICU services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for newborns and their families.

Qualifications

• Recognized specialist qualification in Neonatology (UK CCT or equivalent).
• Postgraduate training in Pediatrics and Neonatology.
• Post-specialization clinical experience in neonatal care and NICU management.
• Current professional registration and a Certificate of Good Standing.
• Eligibility for UAE healthcare licensing (DHA/DOH/MOHAP).
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage newborn conditions, including premature and high-risk infants.
• Provide NICU care for critically ill neonates.
• Manage respiratory distress, infections, jaundice, congenital conditions.
• Perform neonatal procedures within scope of training and privileges.
• Monitor growth and development; adjust treatment plans as required.
• Coordinate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses and other specialists for high-risk deliveries and emergencies.
• Counsel parents regarding newborn conditions, treatment plans, prognosis, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
