Job description

An excellent opportunity for a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join a leading cost consultancy in Dubai, working on prestigious airport and aviation projects.

The successful candidate will have 10-12 years of post-degree experience in Quantity Surveying, including 2-5+ years of experience in the Middle East, ideally in Dubai or the UAE.

This position is suited to an M&E or MEP Quantity Surveyor with experience in both pre-contract and post-contract cost management on large-scale aviation or airport infrastructure projects. MRICS accreditation is desirable but not essential, while a minimum of 10 years' postgraduate experience following a Quantity Surveying degree is required.

Project Details

The employer is a long-established Dubai-based cost consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality cost management services on major aviation and infrastructure schemes.

The successful candidate will form part of the aviation division and focus on the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) elements of complex airport projects, ensuring accurate cost control and commercial reporting from inception through to completion.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Providing pre-contract cost planning and estimating for MEP systems in aviation projects
  • Preparing bills of quantities, tender documentation, and MEP cost breakdowns
  • Performing value engineering and cost analysis of building services systems
  • Managing post-contract commercial administration, including interim valuations and variations
  • Reviewing contractor payment applications and preparing recommendations
  • Monitoring cash flow, project costs, and advising clients accordingly
  • Administering contracts (FIDIC or equivalent) and ensuring compliance with client entitlements
  • Reviewing and validating MEP design changes and their cost implications
  • Liaising with design teams, project managers, and MEP engineers to maintain cost and quality control
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff within the cost management team
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 10-12 years' experience in Quantity Surveying, including at least 10 years post-degree
  • 2-5+ years' professional experience in the Middle East, ideally in Dubai/UAE
  • Significant experience in MEP or building services quantity surveying
  • Aviation or airport project experience is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work across pre- and post-contract stages preferred
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Excellent reporting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience in a consultancy or client-side environment preferred
  • MRICS accreditation desirable but not essential
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent accredited qualification is essential
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years' post-graduation experience
  • MRICS or equivalent professional membership is desirable
  • MEP-focused postgraduate training or experience will be a distinct advantage
